Some people think that I speak out to cause division amongst Christian’s. In reality I speak out to cause divisions between that which is true and that which is posing as true.
Some act like I am feeding my flesh looking for trouble everywhere I go but in reality I don’t need to look for it, it’s everywhere. The devil is doing a good job of blinding people to truth. Of slipping his almost truth which is completely destructive and points away from the true God into churches and Christian homes. It is dubbed Christian and adapted as godly. People are lured away by emotionalism, mysticism and fleshly desires now called acceptable.
In reality I would rather not speak out. I would rather not go against the flow and be called all kinds of horrible names and hated. However I can’t do that. God has called us to be his warriors. He has called us to break down strongholds and fight for truth.
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
Our weapon is scripture and we battle ideologies that hinder the true saving knowledge of God. So many times it is the just love people and they will want to come to Christ but what they mean is be nice to them and affirm them. Don’t make them feel bad about their sin. Don’t call out untruth. That helps no one and in fact it is the most unloving thing you can do.
If I know truth. I know what saves and I sit back and watch it desecrated I am just as bad as the one desecrating it. If I know truth, know what saves and do not share that with a dying world their blood may as well be on my head because I am a watchman. We are all called to be watchmen. Loving our broken and dying world enough to say you are a wretched sinner like I was. In need of a savior because you can do it on your own. God himself came and lived that perfect life that you desperately know you need to live but can’t. He took your sins and curse on himself when he died on the cross of Calvary. And because he rose again you can too. If you trust and believe.
Pick up your cross. It’s not easy. It’s not comfortable. It is out of your comfort zone and follow Christ. Proclaim the good news and tear down the untruth that poses as truth.
If we look at scripture the most opposed people were not the simple sinners who were needing truth. It was the ones who posed as truth and spouted partial truths. The ones who looked godly but instead followed man.
Get out there friends. Get dirty. Do the hard thing God is calling you to. Share the actual gospel. One that talks about sin, depravity and repentance. You can’t have the good news without knowing the bad.
The law and gospel is for today…. Show people the law is on them unless they are under grace. Either you live by the law and die by it. Or you are saved by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
