Bethel and their twisting of prayer and authority.

This view that Bethel holds is blasphemous. It brings God down and raises them above him. It brings them to the place of power and authority. We don’t authorize God’s will. He does not need our permission, ok, acceptance or authorization. He is the ultimate authority. He established everything and he sustains everything.

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

God Created everything

3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews 1:3

He sustains everything

24 The Lord of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand, He planned, he purposed and so it shall be. Isaiah 14:24

10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ It is all done, his purpose is what will be accomplished with or without our approval. Isaiah 46:10

35 all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” We are nothing in comparison with him and our worth and value comes from him. Daniel 4:35

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

“The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth. May our God come and not keep silence; Fire devours before Him, And it is very tempestuous around Him. He summons the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people: “Gather My godly ones to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is judge. Selah. “Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you; I am God, your God. I do not reprove you for your sacrifices, And your burnt offerings are continually before Me. I shall take no young bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds. For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains. Shall I eat the flesh of bulls Or drink the blood of male goats? Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High; Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.” But to the wicked God says, “What right have you to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth? For you hate discipline, And you cast My words behind you. When you see a thief, you are pleased with him, And you associate with adulterers. You let your mouth loose in evil And your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. These things you have done and I kept silence; You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes. “Now consider this, you who forget God, Or I will tear you in pieces, and there will be none to deliver. He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God.”” Psalms‬ ‭50‬:‭1‬-‭23‬

5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. Psalm 147:5

The Bible teaches us that we are to ask, to petition, to wait patiently and to put our trust in him.

““Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]”. Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all thy works. Psalm 73:28

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6–7

18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18

Bethel teaches one to stop relying on God and rely on self. We are supposed to be submitted to God. He is who gives us everything according to his kind will. His will is what will happen. He does not need our help or approval. This is a contrast in scripture and what Bethel teaches.

I am a God fearing mother of two. A wife to a wonderful husband. A crafter of junk. A baker. And anything the LORD puts in my path.
